Stress can be defined as the degreeto which you feel overwhelmed or unable to cope as a result of pressures that areunmanageable.All sorts of situations can cause stress. Some of the most common involve work,money matters and relationships with partners, children or other family membersStress may also be caused either by major upheavals and life events such as divorce,unemployment, moving house and bereavement, or by a series of minor irritationssuch as feeling undervalued at work. Sometimes there are no obvious causesA certain amount of stress is a normal part of life and can have some positivequalities. Some stress can motivate us to take action to deal with a problem, but toomuch stress can have negative consequencesBromley offers an 'improving Access to Psychological Therapies' (IAPT) service calledTalk together Bromley. People can be referred to the service by their GP (or otherhealthcare professional), or you can refer yourself if you are feeling anxious, stressesdor down. Talk together Bromley offers free talking therapies and specialist support tohelp you improve your mood, deal with stress, and manage your anxiety to improveyour wellbeingThe experienced team is made up of psychological wellbeing practitioners,psychological therapists, and counsellors. They offer guided self-help over thetelephone or online, in workshops, therapy groups, or individual cognitive behaviouraltherapy or counselling.Talk together Bromley run four session workshops once a week for one and a halfhours on stress, which indludes:Understanding:What is stress and how it is maintained?.
